Marshall Mathers, commonly known as Eminem is an American rapper and songwriter. He was born on the 17th of October 1972 in Missouri, US as an only child. He grew up with his single mother as Eminem's father left before he was even born. The two travelled and lived in many different states including Missouri, Kansas, and Michigan. Because of the number of times he moved, he had to repeat grade 9 from unexplained absences. He also did not have many friends from this and the fact he would get bullied for having a single mother.
Eminem and Kim Scott started dating in 1987 and all through the 90's. In 1995, Hailie Jade was born. Eminem has mentioned her name in over 20 of the songs he has recorded, and she has featured in two of his songs - 'My Dad's Gone Crazy' & '97 Bonnie and Clyde'.
Eminem has had over 15 songs where artists have been featured on his tracks. Including:
Godzilla - Eminem, Juice World
Walk on Water - Eminem, Beyonce
Won't Back Down - Eminem, P!NK
From The D 2 The LBC - Eminem, Snoop Dogg
River - Eminem, Ed Sheeran
Love the Way You Lie - Eminem, Rihanna
These are just to name a few.
Marshall has won numerous awards and even earned a place in The Guiness Book of World Records, where the song "Rap God" was the fastest song recorded. He has had 150 wins and 383 nominations for awards and 15 Grammys of which six were for best rap album of the year.
Eminem has not had the easiest life especially due to living in poverty throughout most of it, with abuse and violence constantly surrounding him. He has most definitely come a long way from where he started - age 14 wagging school to rap at clubs in his hometown - to winning Grammys and nominations for the biggest awards and recognitions in the world. His story really shows when you have dedication, anything is possible, no matter your living conditions or home life. As long as you have the ability to go above and beyond and the mindset to do it, that is what matters.
